DMP BD45 Design and Control Panels
Panasonic is known for slim designs and the DMP-BD45 is no exception.
- It is finished in non-glossy black and all
control panels are found in the front.
- If you wish to put in an SD card, the
slot is found right under the loading tray. There is a flap lid that covers the
port. It supports SDHD up to 32GB. When you have a 2TB SDXC card, the player is
also able to read it. Using these, you can view your photos, or play DivX and
MP3 files.
- Other input and output slots are all in the back.
The Quality of Picture and Audio Output
Being a basic player, the Panasonic DMP-BD45 has n multi-channel analog outputs but it has an HDMI connection as well as analog 2.0-channel and digital audio outputs so you still get High Resolution sound. Dolby Digital Plus/ Dolby TrueHD and DT-HD Master Audio Essential/ DTS-HD High Resolution Audio can be given out in bitstream form into an Audio/Video receiver.
You will be surprised when you put it in a Blu-Ray disc in your player and play it on your HDTV. The picture quality is great for a very basic Blu-Ray player. Like other high-tech players, it is able to play in Full HD 1080/24p resolution in your HD television.
The images are produced with crisp colors and intense detail. That is because of the image technology developed by Panasonic Hollywood Labs, the PHL Reference Chroma Processor Plus and High Precision 4:4:4. The High Precision 4:4:4 processes the pixels in a vertical direction from the signal of the Blu-Ray Disc video so that you see great pictures on screen. These two image technology deliver accurate colors twice than normal systems.
Fast Loading and Less Energy Consumption
Despite the fact that it is an entry level player, it has Panasonic’s Quick Start mode to speed up disc loading and booting times. You do not have to wait too for the disc to begin playing.
Also, Panasonic also added an ability to the player for saving energy to help the environment. Your Panasonic DMP-BD45 Blu-Ray Player consumes only 14 watts instead of the conventional 19 watts.
When your player is in standby mode, the player automatically cuts down energy to only 0.1 watts. This function is very eco-friendly and most players don’t have it.
What you get from a Basic Blu-Ray Player
Being an entry level it is incapable of connecting to the Internet. It does not have an Ethernet port and therefore can’t access the BD-Live content from your Blu-Ray discs. That is the missing feature of this player but nonetheless it is packed with other features that most players have.
It is capable of high resolution movies giving out great color and details to the images. The sound output is equally great. Other than excellent quality for audio and video, it loads really fast and costs you less than other players.
